SHORT HISTORY OF THE CITY OF MARMELADE.

The City of Marmelade was founded in 1888. It became an Arrondissement in 1929. It was made an electoral district with the City of Saint-Michel in 1945 and a electoral district in 2015.
It includes 3 communal sections, 34 localities and 277 dwellings. Its surface is 117.7 square kilometers. Its population is estimated at 40,000 inhabitants. Marmelade is limited with the Cities of Ennery, Limbé, Dondon, Acul-Du-Nord, Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye and Plaisance.
Its only main road that connects Pulboreau-Marmelade was inaugurated in the year 1932 by President Stenio Vincent.
It has a main street called Rue Guerrier. Its financial source is coffee, beans, corn, bananas, yams, malanga, sweet potatoes, pitit millet, and others. The breeding of pigs, horses, beef, chickens, mules, donkeys, goats and others.
Tourist places are: Grotte de Dufour, the walls of Bauché, Paparelle, Dumont, Dumas, Au Place, Fort-Jalousie.

We have meeting sessions every 15 days, and also one conference per month. Our beautiful meetings are rich in meaning, we debate on our visions and principles. We are analyzing the most effective ways to raise awareness among all Marmeladais by inviting them to join us to make their contributions to the City of Marmelade.
OUR HISTORY
The Association of Marmeladians Overseas is a non-profit charity organization founded in the city of Boston States of Massachusetts on April 21, 2001.
The AMO was founded with a group of young Marmeladians friends, classmates, coworkers and former organizations members who immigrated to the United States and thought of the degrading situations that the population of Marmelade lived.
OUR MAIN GOAL
Recruit, raise awareness, encourage and mobilize all Marmeladais everywhere, both abroad and in Haiti to work together to support the development and fighting against illiteracy in the City of Marmelade.
Contribute to cultural development, education, reforestation, socio-economic and above all promote aid for civic and political education for citizens of all classes in the City of Marmelade Haiti. We will also reach out to friends and Citizens from Haiti to engage with AMO in this fight for the betterment of our native Country.
